Cannes Cruise Ship Ban (NEW 2026)

From January 1, 2026, cruise ships with more than 1,000 passengers are banned from docking directly in Cannes port. Larger ships must anchor offshore and tender passengers in. Daily cap: 6,000 cruise passengers maximum. Only 1 large ship (3,000+ passengers) per day allowed in the bay. Expected to reduce large ship visits by ~50%. Cruise fares to Cannes are increasing 2026-2027.

How to avoid

If arriving by cruise, check if your ship docks directly or tenders ashore. Plan for potential delays with tendering. Consider visiting Cannes independently from Nice.
