Lithuania bans smoking in enclosed public places, on café and restaurant terraces, at transport stops and near the entrances of public buildings, and since 2021 on public beaches. Breaching those restrictions is art. 492(1) of the administrative offences code: a warning or €20 to €50, rising to €50 to €90 if you are caught again. The tobacco itself is confiscated either way — that part is not discretionary. The figure previously published here, €30–100, matches no paragraph of the article.
A first offence can be closed with a warning rather than a fine, which is worth knowing before arguing. What is not discretionary is losing the pack.
